Industry leading wearable vital signs monitoring
snap40's wearable device is comfortably worn on the patients upper arm and uses no leads and no wires. The arm-band monitors respiratory rate, heart rate, relative change in systolic blood pressure, oxygen saturations, skin temperature and movement.
With a battery life of 2 days and wireless recharging, it requires minimal time to gain confident observations from patients.
The device transmits data over WiFi every 30 seconds.
Automated risk analysis & intelligent early warnings
snap40 is a secure software platform running in an enterprise data centre. It takes in data from the snap40 wearable device, calculates vital signs and then determines patient risk via an early warning score based on clinician set thresholds.
Early warning scores are calculated based on relative change in vital signs, rather than absolute values.
The information is made available to healthcare staff via mobile applications. Healthcare staff can quickly identify patients at highest risk and then view live and historical vital signs for that patient.
Early warning alerts are sent to healthcare staff, bringing their attention to patients at risk of deterioration and enabling earlier clinical action.

Reduced Length of Patient Stay in Hospital
snap40 continually monitors and analyses data from patients in real-time. As soon as the early warning signs of deterioration are detected, snap40 issues an alert based on the healthcare providers escalation procedure.
Evidence shows that earlier detection of deterioration, can shorten length of hospital stay. Enabling the patient to safely go home earlier benefits both the patient and the healthcare provider.
Improved Patient Outcomes & Happiness
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence suggests that earlier detection of deterioration will reduce patient morbidity and mortality. By enabling clinicians and nurses to detect deterioration earlier, lives can be saved and longer-term illness prevented.
Furthermore, snap40 allows patients to be monitored even when they are moving around the hospital. They are not anchored to their bed and can still be observed, no matter whether they are in the toilet or at the hospital shop. This allows the patient to feel secure and safe, wherever they are.
More Time for Staff to Think and Care
Healthcare staff can be freed from taking vital sign observations, instead relying on snap40. It takes on average 15 minutes to take a patients vital sign observations and we know some nurses spend up to two hours a shift taking observations.
snap40 enables nurses and healthcare staff to focus on other tasks and snap40 will send an alert as soon as a patient begins to deteriorate.
